Our Story
High Street & Green was founded when humorist, radio personality and entrepreneur Tom Bodett purchased the building in 2020. Propelled by a sense of opportunity and urgency to contribute to the vibrancy of downtown Brattleboro coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic, Tom created High Street & Green as a lasting home for creative enterprises in the heart of the town.
Today, High Street & Green proudly hosts a diverse range of both for-profit and non-profit creative enterprises, filling every corner of our historic 1912 building. We are committed to modernizing our space while preserving its charm—upgrading systems, addressing deferred maintenance, and even installing a rooftop solar array to support sustainable practices.
Join us at High Street & Green, where tradition meets innovation in the heart of Brattleboro.
The High Street & Green building in the Brattleboro’s downtown historic district has been continuously occupied since its construction in 1912.
In 2023, we equipped our historic building with a 55kw rooftop solar array, which now supplies a substantial part of our annual energy needs.

“From the beginning I’ve wanted High Street & Green to be a place where talent and inspiration could gather, do things, and show their work. So far, so good.”
— Tom Bodett, founder
